Otsukimi, or Japanese Moonviewing, is a traditional Japanese Celebration of the full moon.

Friday October 14th 6:30-9:00pm and Saturday October 15th 6:30-9:00pm

A unique, informative, and intimate event at the Japanese Friendship Garden on Hance Park,  this honored tradition is celebrated every year and has consistently sold out.

Due to high demand of this unique event the Japanese Friendship Garden is extending the invitation to guests for two nights. By doing so, the peaceful serenity of this event will be preserved and all guests can be accommodated.

Garden staff will light up the garden with candles and luminaries, please guests with entertainment from talented musicians, offer traditional food, and leave guests with a feeling that they were a part of something special.

A traditional Japanese tea demonstration will also take place at an additional cost. Guests will be served authentic Japanese tea by our tea ladies dressed in kimono in our tea garden. It is an experience that rarely takes place during regular operation hours.  Space is limited.
